Book review

Book : DO YOU THINK HE SAURUS author: aaron blabey story and pictures by Aaron blabey. It's packed with action drama. The author has done a admiring job. The story is set in the dinosaure times and you should know what will be there .If not then I will tell you the list dinosaurs, plants and trees.Wolf Shark and Piranha are suppose to teleport to the future but piranha presses the do not press button . And they all went to the dinosaur times! Suddenly wolf shark and piranha were surrounded by dinosaurs...but then SNAKE came out of nowhere. And told shark to put on a disguise. Meanwhile legs was fixing the teleporter after some time Legs finally fixed the teleporter. They all ran to the teleporter and got in but there was a DINOSAUR and it got in the teleporter too. Piranha pressed the do not press button again. This time they got in the right place but then in the teleporter they got a little something. My favorite character snake because he always whined but now he turned into a sneaky soldier snake. My favorite part of the book is when snake says ‘We can’t save them we need to save ourselves in this nakid shark with leaves on its head no offense buddy (shark) None taken. I really like this book because it is action packed and humorous. I recommend this book for 8-13 years old. I rate this book five out of five.

speech

Introduction
19,000 to 32,000 years ago, this species was born in Belgium.  The name of the first type of this species is the Siberian Husky.  This type of species is specially trained to sniff out food at the airport or criminals who break out of jail.
If you haven’t figured out what I’m talking about yet, I will give you two final clues that should make it really obvious.  They go “Woof, woof!” and LOVE to chase cats! Ahhhh yes, that’s right, I’`m talking about man’s best friend, the trustworthy and ever so loyal dog.  To be more specific, I strongly believe that  dogs are better than cats. Dogs are active and
obedient, dogs are helpful and make excellent pets.  Whereas cats have none of these qualities, in fact, they are disobedient, unhelpful and make terrible pets!`

First main idea and evidence
How are dogs helpful you may ask?
Dogs are helpful because they help blind people cross the road.  Dogs sniff out trails of criminals who have escaped jail. They also sniff out food at the airport . Dogs keep you happy when you are stressed out or angry.  Studies have shown that playing with or patting an animal can increase levels of the stress-reducing hormone, oxytocin and decrease production of the stress hormone cortisol.  Farm dogs are also very helpful. They guard the farm by barking if a stranger comes so the farmer will realise that a stranger is on his farm. They also help round up sheep and cattle and take them to new paddocks.  Whereas cats are no help to humans at all!  Cats are selfish, lazy and greedy animals. You will never see a cat helping a person in need, sniffing out criminal activity or obeying a person's commands…….. yeah right!

Second main idea and evidence
Dogs are trustworthy and obedient but...cats definitely are not!
Dogs do what they are told but do cat’s do what they are told?......... NO!  Dogs can be trained at puppy training or obedience classes to……….(give examples, what can they be trained to do? - look in your writing book).  However, you will never see a cat at obedience class because there is no way they would ever be able to, nor want to learn to obey their owner.  In their eyes, you are their servant, and you should be willing to cater to their every need. You are there to serve them not the other way around.  Cats will do as they please and will not take orders from anyone.

Third main idea and evidence
My last idea is that dogs make exercise fun not stressful.
They encourage you to run further than last time.
They also keep you company. When you have a frowny face dogs will
Turn it upside down eee! But cat’s just keep you stressed
Out.
Conclusion
To sum it all up dogs are better than cats.
Because dogs do more helpful things than cats.
They are obedient, playful, loyal, caring and efficient.whereas cats are selfish, untrainable, spoilt and greedy creatures.

Now I hope you agree with me which you probably
will.

a letter from Gallipoli

A letter from Gallipoli
Dear brother
There are many soldiers who are dying in war.
We were needing help and food to eat.
At night I listen to the bombing sounds of guns.
The thundering noises of gun’s kept on going for the rest of the night.
I was safe from my enemies in the trenches and that’s where I hide.
In the morning I could smell the rotten food and it was horrible.
Then a couple of bombs blasted near me. I am petrified.
so me and the soldiers sniped most of the enemies down. Then killed the rest.I was happy.
Then I proudly said victory is ours!

school photographes

Dear photographer

I am writing  to express My opinion about the way you arrange the class photographes.
Everyone knows that you take good photos but i have some suggestions to make.
First of all all of the photos are jumbled up.And you can get display board and put a class photos on the board and the next photo with the same teacher.

And people would buy more photos if it had a better background like for example you could make the background into our school symbol because it will be outstanding and people would like to buy them.

We should not have a photo shop for absent people and just right their names on the photo for the absent people because you would have to do extra work and also we should not have photos with  siblings and just have pictures of yourself and your class because it will be way easier and you would not have to wait until that student comes so you can photoshoot them.

The Battle of Maui and Tane-Mahuta

Maui lived peacefully surrounded by trees, flowers and leaves. It was all calm until a young warrior stomped through the trees and told Maui that Tane-mahuta wanted to eliminate Maui and steal all of his precious green stone for his weapons.

Maui was a brave and strong warrior, who defended his village with pride. He had survived many battle’s. No one dared to face Maui except Tane-mahuta. Tane mahuta wanted to kill Maui for the greenstone. Maui announced ‘We will prepare for battle’. So everyone started preparing for battle.

But then Maui thought about all his warriors dying. The next day he went to Tane-mahuta and said “Come over and sit down on this totara tree’. Tane-mahuta thought it was a dangerous trap. Tane Mahuta said “Is this a trap?” “No my friend” replied Maui. Maui continued “Tane-mahuta we have lost many of our family in battle, we must find another way. If you beat me in a game you can have my greenstone, do you agree?”  “What is this game? ” Tane Mahuta said. “Tomorrow gather fifteen of your warrior’s and meet me here” said Maui

The next day when Tane-mahuta arrived to the tremendous totara tree he saw that in front of  Maui there was a moa egg. “If you get this egg past my warrior’s and put it down between the totara trees then you can take my greenstone but if my warrior’s do this we win”.

After a fierce game the two tribes felt exhausted. Tane Mahuta’s tribe had lost and the precious greenstone stayed with Maui.  That is how the game of rugby came to Aotearoa.

The Waka

WAKA
On the sacred vessel I sit amongst my whanau. “kamate kamate koara koara tenetiwhitua uru uru na whiti tera” we exclaim. We push the glittery water and it feels like we are being tugged by the wind. The lightning and thunder came around us causing the waves to move the waka and go faster. We grab onto the oars tightly and push back to not get injured.
“HEE”. My fellow warriors can’t stand the taste of blood. The beautifully carved waka cuts through the water like a taiaha. The tattoos on each side represent our mother and fathers history. We poke out our tongues and eyes “kamate kamate kora kora”

How to Hongi

The Hongi

What is a hongi?

A hongi is the pressing of noses, which symbolises the exchange of the breath of life

When does the hongi happen?

When the tangata whenua side indicates that the speeches are complete, the manuhiri speakers approach the tangata whenua to hongi

What to do.

1.look into their eyes and shake their right hand  and say  ‘kia ora’.
2. rest your left hand on their shoulder lightly.
3. Touch their nose with your nose lightly.
4.don’t laugh because that is rude to their culture.

The hong is a welcome of their culture that shows respect to the tangata whenua,
therefore it is important you do it correctly.
